Halcyon awaits.

On most wolf rpgs nowadays, there is a rigid structure to which members must conform. There is a defined time flow throughout the sites usually. Seasons for the lands are determined by staff. So if you come up for a wonderful story idea about your character in a blizzard, but your admin has declared that the seaon is summer for the next two months - too bad for you. Mating and birthing seasons are also popular restrictions. And until Halcyon, I have never seen a wolf rpg that did not require you to create a bio (in some cases, a very lengthy bio) for your characters before you are allowed to post anything in character.
I have participated in several wolf rpgs and from my own experience, I have found that the personalities of my characters grew and developed as I role-played more with them and interacted with other characters. If so much development occurs during the process of role-playing, why is it then that so many websites expect you to sit there and create a complete and thorough bio on a character you might never have role-played with before. And sometimes, isn't it more fun just to be a little spontaneous with your character's personality?
Lately, there seems to be too much focus on having a stunning layout filled with extras like "Character of the Month," "Couple of the Month," and "Annoying Restriction of the Month." Ok, I kid with that last one. Sure, a website should be pleasing to the eyes, but all the fancy codes in the world won't make up for when a rpg fails to allow its members to be creative.
So what makes Halcyon different? Well here, its your characters and your story. We don't tell you what season it is or whether you can have pups at the moment. And here, we do not make you choose between having a realistic or magical character. You can have both, to any extent that you want! We have the basic rules that protect the rights of members, but we do not restrict their creativity. We don't even limit the type of packs that can be created.
An rpg should be about having fun and being creative. That is what we strive for here at Halcyon. So join today!
